From Our President:
The Club is deeply saddened by the unexpected death of Jane Peet,
one of our long time members and a member of the Club’s Board:
the Editor of the Nachrichten Newsletter. Jane passed away
February 14 while waiting to have a surgical procedure.
We have few details at this time but we understand that she
will be cremated and her ashes scattered at sea as she wished.
A memorial gathering will be held in the next few months at their home.
Their daughter and some close friends from the Club are helping her
husband, Jim, to cope with this tragedy. Those who knew Jane know
that she was a real sparkplug, always up, always helping, always
cheerful and fun. Life will not be the same without her.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Jim and to the other members of her family.
Philip Grant, President
From Judy Lafferty
It's difficult for me to fully grasp the lose of Jane. I'll cherish the
memories of the wonderful times I spent with her. She had a way of making
everything fun with her happy personality and her smile. I will miss
her so very much. My thoughts are with Jim and her family and many
friends that will miss her as well.
Judy Lafferty
From Sally Lash:
I'm still not processing the whole thing. I chatted with Jane on Tuesday
and had a Jacque Lawson Valentine from her on Wednesday morning.
When Ann Sands called on Thursday, I couldn't believe what she was saying.
This will leave a hole for the club in many, many ways.
Sally
From Dot Steeves:
Words cannot express the instantaneous sense of loss and disbelief I felt upon
hearing that the cheerful voice of our dear friend Jane would no longer be heard.
Many thoughts return after a friendship of many years and happy times spent
together at GSC events where Jane unfailingly would come up with some outlandish
costume, T-shirt, jewelry or gadget that would make everyone laugh.
Jane was such a help to me after Jim's passing, nothing was too much for her to undertake.
Condolences to my longtime friend Jim, Jill, and Jane's entire family.
Dot Steeves

GSC Club members who had the pleasure to know her and work with her.
RIP Jane.

Dear friends, I have lost my best friend. Jane was my sunshine everyday.
All of us have lost a friend that was always willing to help us, no matter
what, she always made time for us. She would call everyday to check on Larry.
I will never forget all the good times we had, so many laughs. I love her so
much, will forever hold her in my heart.
All our love to Jim and family.
