He recovered enough to attend the New Year s Eve party at the Glendale Elks together with 21 other GSC ers and friends. Bob announced that longtime GSC member Jack Cherrix had passed away and that Ann will be circulating a card for Monica.Bob further noted that Jane Peet had an operation on her arm and is recovering but she and Jim are both fighting the flu. Bob stated that Mount Baldy was offering a special online package for lift tickets at $189.95 (regular price $500). Using a code word the package is available for $50.95 plus $5.00 s&h. Bob further announced that Far West Ski Appreciation Weekend has been cancelled.<br /><br /> <b>SECRETARY:</b> On motion by Ann Lawson, seconded by Marie Giusto, the minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.<br /><br /> <b>TEASURER:</b> Sally reported that as of 12/31/10 our total assets amounted to $15,629.73. Sally said it makes her job easier if expense reports are submitted for any out-of-pocket expenditures by Board members. Marie asked if there was a contract for the music for the Christmas party. Since no one knew Marie will follow up. The treasurer s report was approved as presented.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. MEMBERSHIP:</b> Ted advised that Scott will be sending him a copy of the new roster. He will peruse it for errors prior to resubmitting it. There was discussion as to life member forms. Eleonore said she submitted a completed form to Ted in November. Since the original seems to have been misplaced both Ted and Eleonore will check to see if a copy can be found.<br /><br /> <b>SUNSHINE:</b>  During his convalescence Sally gave Bob Wildman a rather large yellow rock inscribed  GSC s Wild Man Have a Speedy Recovery (or words to that effect). With respect to the death of Jack Cherrix, Monica Cherrix had suggested that in lieu of flowers the Board might choose to donate to a favorite charity in Jack s name.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. FIELD:</b> Judy has made a reservation for the Day in the Park at Prado for the first weekend in June, namely June 3-5-11. There will be a Friday night potluck and Saturday night dinner. The price for the Saturday night dinner will be in the neighborhood of $25.00. Judy will reschedule the harbor cruise for sometime in either April or May.V.P. SOCIAL: Marie reported that the Valentine party will be held at the home of Sandra and Norbert Knapp on February 14th and will be a potluck. Marie has a sign-up sheet for circulation at the meeting. The St. Patrick s Day party will be held on March 19th at Marie s. Sign-ups will be taken for starters, sides or desserts.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. SPECIAL:</b> Ann s report on the annual trips will be attached to the minutes. Ann has 27 total sign-ups for Lake Tahoe but only 20 for Harrahs. She will follow up as she needs 8 or 9 more people. Ann stated that the information for FWSA is included in her report.<br /><br /> <b>NACHRICHTEN:</b> In the absence of the Nachrichten editor there was no report.<br /><br /> <b>PAST PRESIDENT/ADVISOR:</b> Eleonore had no report.<br /><br /> <b>INTERNATIONAL:</b> Lou Hoesl stated that he had spoken to Jackie Ziegler who advised that her husband Kurt is taking care of obtaining GSC new member pins.<br /><br /> <b>NEW BUSINESS:</b> Sally suggested that we make our next donation in the name of Jack Cherrix which was agreed to by all members present.
