He also advised that our annual meeting and election will be held on the 20th of April following the Board meeting.<br /><br /> <b>SECRETARY:</b> Marie said that since the minutes of the February meeting did not state that the club would pay for the corned beef and cabbage and beverages at the St. Patrick s Day party she wanted to clarify that point. The minutes were then approved on motion by Jane, seconded by Sally.<br /><br /> <b>TREASURER:</b> Sally reported that as of 2/28/11 our total assets amounted to $14,231.08 Sally will update the balance sheet as there are two missing items. This report will be tabled until the next board meeting.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. MEMBERSHIP:</b> Since Ted Palmeri was absent there was no report.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. FIELD:</b> Judy stated that she had planned an outing at Tom s Farms for April 16th. She also advised that the cost for the dinner at Prado on June 4th will be $20.00 per person. Judy is looking at a date of May 10th for Knott s Berry Farm. This is a Tuesday because there is a special price for seniors for the chicken dinner.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. SOCIAL:</b> Marie has 25 people signed up for the St. Patrick s Day party. Our installation banquet is tentatively planned for the third weekend in May at the Odyssey. The rates are $27 on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and $27 on Sunday before 10:00 a.m., $32 after 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A tentative date and time for the installation banquet was set for May 22nd at 9:30 a.m., to be finalized after the election.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. SPECIAL:</b> Ann s report on the annual trips was passed out and will be attached to the minutes. She has information on the Convention and a sign-up sheet for work hours which will be distributed at the meeting tonight. Ann told the Board members that she is out $1878.70 on the trip to Tahoe. Judy made a motion to reimburse Ann up to $1900.00, a check to be cut when all the expenses are in. Seconded by Eleonore and unanimously passed. Ann further reported that the 2012 trip will be to Steamboat. She advised that the Neus want to have a pot luck picture party for both trips, date yet to be determined.<br /><br /> <b>NACHRICHTEN:</b> Jane advised that she has pictures and an article for the Valentine s party. Randy Gregory called Jane and has e-mailed her pictures of Edy. The deadline for the Nachrichten is March 20th. Jane will put in an article re the upcoming elections. She further reported that Ann Sands is doing much better but is still experiencing some pain following her knee replacement.<br /><br /> <b>PAST PRESIDENT/ADVISOR:</b> Eleonore stated that she had no report.<br /><br /> <b>L.A. COUNCIL:</b> <br />a) Ann Lawson passed around a sign-up sheet for the Far West Convention which will be held from June 9-12 at the Pacific Palms Hotel & Conference Center in Industry Hills. Registration is to be completed by May 9th. We are allowed 12 volunteers.<br /> b) International Representative Lou Hoesl had no report.<br /> c) Competition/Race Chairman Fred Yamashita was not present.<br /> d) Promotion/Communications Representative Verena Somer was not present.<br /><br /> <b>PRESIDENT:</b> Bob advised that he has appointed Lou Hoesl as nominating chairman for the upcoming election. The committee will consist of Ann Lawson, Sandra Knapp and Lou Hoesl.
