The treasurer s report was accepted subject to audit. Sally stated that the taxes were completed and sent in.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. MEMBERSHIP:</b> Ted Palmeri reported that there is about $900 in new membership deposits. Ted has been asked to create a new form for those who want to apply for life membership. There was no sunshine report.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. FIELD:</b> Judy reported that 28 are signed up for the trip to the Autry. She is looking into a brunch cruise, possibly on Oct. 24.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. SOCIAL:</b> Sally reported that $265 was made on the Fiesta party. Ann Lawson reported that 25 people are signed up for brunch at Marie s and that Marie wants people at the brunch by 9:30 on Saturday morning.<br /><br /> <b>V.P. SPECIAL:</b> Ann handed out her report. A copy of same has been attached to the minutes. Verena may do a blast on the upcoming ski trips. Service Auction: The service auction will be held on Oct. 20.<br /><br /> <b>NACHRICHTEN:</b> Jane advised that the deadline for the next Nachrichten is Sept. 3.<br /><br /> <b>PAST PRESIDENT/ADVISOR:</b> Eleonore Hoesl received a phone call and a thank you note from Inge Jahnke regarding the Joni & Friends gift the club gave in memory of Jans.<br /><br /> <b>REPORTS:</b> Ann Lawson is the new L. A. Council representative. International representative Lou Hoesl said that there was no news from our Swiss friends as they were in the mountains with the Swiss cows for the summer. Race Chair Fred Yamashita was not present. Promotions Chair Verena Somer is calling a meeting on Sept.1 to go over the suggestions that she has received from her blasts.<br /><br /> <b>PRESIDENT:</b> Bob congratulated Marie and the Melendez s for hosting a great party and for keeping it under budget.<br /><br /> <b>UNFINISED BUSINESS:</b> No unfinished business was discussed.<br /><br /> <b>NEW BUSINESS:</b> It was moved and seconded that we do an inventory of the supplies to find out what s there and to decide what should be eliminated, also to take Fred Kramer to lunch. E. Hoesl/A. Lawson Motion carried. Lou Hoesl will chair the committee to go through the supplies. It was moved and seconded that we deduct the price of one event from the first year dues of potential new members if they join the GSC. The cost of the activity will not exceed the cost of membership. Lawson/Palmeri Motion carried.
